How is one able to come to terms with such?
Does God exist?Perhaps its a mistake on my part to consider this a 'done to death' topic. Not that I am baffled by any theories, not that I am reconsidering my stand on any solid arguements.. No. I am just, perhaps awed at the stance that can be taken by some, and after some thought, perhaps many more in the world, of this.
The basic arguement that exists in any thesis against God's existence: What caused God? If one says that God is the first cause, then something else must have caused it. Yes, there is the infinite-finite arguement. Yes, there is the logicial working-it-out one can do to finally try to to show that God is not contained by his own creations, be it time, space or dimension -or even the concept of causation. But the next arguement to this: If we say God is the first cause,
why can't we say the universe is the first cause too?How can it be. I mean. Okay, we can argue it to soundness in by logic, by reasoning, by whatsoever, but how can one actually believe that the universe was the first cause? The movement of the planets around the sun, the intricates of the sun and earth, the biological make-up of the human body, the complex laws that govern our earth, the beauty of trees, stars, sun, sand, rain - to the possession of the knowledge of this beauty. The capacity to reason, justify, theorise, discuss - the gift of language.. music. food. animals. land. mountains. shapes. everything. Yes. We can argue that they just came to be, theres no
logical problem in that. But how is one actually able to come to terms with it and assume that there is sense in such?Does no one control the clockworks? Is no one responsible for dictating the laws of the living? Is no one around that actually establishes the earth and all in it and allow man to probe into everything - from the geography to the landscape, from the savouries to the scenaries, from the breaths of great moments to his very own mind- all just came about. As, a first cause?
A lot of arguements For God. All can be found easily at any apologetics webbie. Here is my own:
The Possibility Theory"God Exists" is found by deduction. The rest of how the world began, and how mankind started are pure possiblities. In the sense that, a dog talking is a possiblity. A cat flying is a possiblity.
But. The sun will rise tomorrow is a deduction.
And that someone will read this post, and remain apathetic. Is another.
"
For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened." - Romans 1:20-21
