The Mentor

In the midst. Of everything. The human is drowned in a deep body of commitments, of distractions. The substance engulfs the being, the liquid binds the soul. There is some restrictions, some pressures, some fustrations, some stretches. He will be brought to dilemmas. He will struggle through uncertainties. And even when the truth of where everything will end up is understood, the direction that is to be walked on is ignored as the compass in his hands are placed in the sercurity of his pockets.

The christian will always face this adversity in time. The attraction to heed the ways of the world. The want to live as someone that is as normal as anyone else and fade into the routine because evertything else is too tiring to be bothered with anyway. To live the 'good' life as opposed to the right life. To take on roles and responsibitlies and sign it off as another duty to kill yourself over. To warrior off accomplishments and clench your teeth as another set comes your way. The theology we appreciate condenses to something numbing - something that is slowly, somehow justifiably, pushed aside.

And perhaps, the dynamics of a group or a seminar setting doesn't appease such a situation. The spiritual growth of one probaly needs a personal touch. Someone that can draw you away from the entire mess, someone that can take you out of the unreasonable piorities. To show you. To scold you. To tell you. To point to you. To teach you. To challenge you. To actually look at you in the eye and ask you specifically, 'How is your walk with God?'

The reason for all. All for the reason.
For my function, for the purpose.
For the reason. I live.
